What is a Doula?
There are different types of doulas, including birth doulas who focus on the labour and delivery process and postpartum doulas who provide support in the days and weeks following childbirth. Hiring a doula is a personal choice, and their role is complementary to the care provided by medical professionals, such as doctors and midwives. A doula is a trained and supportive companion who provides non-medical assistance to individuals or couples before, during, and after childbirth. Offering emotional, physical, and informational support, doulas aim to enhance the birthing experience by empowering and comforting the expectant person and their partner. While not medical professionals, doulas play a vital role in advocating for the birthing person's preferences, providing comfort measures during labour, and offering guidance and support in the postpartum period.
Welcome!
A BIG Welcome and thank you for finding me. I am so excited to be in this wonderful birthing space. I am a mother of 4 beautiful children, 3 variations of natural births and 1 Caesarean Section all birthed at the hospital. I loved being pregnant and I blossomed. For me, becoming a mother was like I had found my superpower, and I was unstoppable but not everyone had the same experience as me.

Since then, from my personal experience it has been my mission to be able to hold the space for new Mothers, to support them and reassure them that we don’t have to do this journey completely alone and it is OK to not know everything. You are learning a new skill; it is called Mothering.
I trained with Continuum Doulas, which has a big focus on post-natal care and with the increased strain of not enough resources in the NHS, it is evident that there is a real need for post-natal support and that’s where the benefit of taking on a Doula comes in. I am there to guide and support you every step of the way, in whatever capacity you need me to be

My approach to pregnancy and postpartum care
is centred on nurturing both the changing body and your wellbeing.
I encourage and have a big focus on using Reiki and perinatal massage to support you through this transformative journey:
Holistic Emotional and Physical Support: I provide compassionate emotional support and physical comfort
through a combination of Reiki and perinatal massage therapy. This can help you navigate
the emotional highs and lows while easing physical discomfort throughout your pregnancy and postpartum journey.
Personalized Birth and Wellness Planning: Together, we create a personalized birth plan that reflects
your unique preferences and vision. With regular treatments of
Reiki, aromatherapy, and perinatal massage can help you stay connected
to your body and maintain a feeling of relaxed balance during pregnancy.
Postpartum Healing and Nurturing: My care continues into the postpartum period,
I offer gentle healing touch through Reiki which has been known to support your emotional wellbeing. With hands-on practical support with things like, light cooking, looking after baby whilst you have some "me-time" to rest or shower (it can be anything you feel you need to do).
I am here to guide you through your new adjustment to motherhood with compassion and understanding.
Advocacy and Empowerment: I stand by your side as your advocate, ensuring that your needs
and preferences are respected within the maternity system.
My goal is to empower you with the knowledge and confidence
to navigate your birthing experience with clarity and a sense of control.
Collaborative and Individualised Care: Recognising that each journey is unique,
I collaborate closely with your medical team to complement their care.
My approach is tailored specifically to your needs, ensuring that you receive
comprehensive, holistic support every step of the way.

The possibilities are endless. Let's schedule a call and you can share with me
your expectations and pregnancy journey so far.
